The Beauval Zoo in France witnessed the birth of its first baby hippopotamus this year. The newborn female was named Gloria after the hippopotamus, star of the cartoon Madagascar, and she weighs about 38 kilograms. The park's new arrival was born on June 8 and was brought out to visitors for the first time on Monday with her mother, Paulinhas.
